General Description of the Library System
In partnership with eleven towns and cities, the Library System serves Brazoria County residents through twelve branches spread from Freeport in the South to West Pearland in the North; with a robust array of virtual and digital services and outreach events and programming. Our branches in Alvin, Angleton, Brazoria, Clute, Danbury, Freeport, Lake Jackson, Manvel, Pearland, West Pearland, Sweeny and West Columbia offer a collection of items, programs, and services as diverse as the community we serve. In addition to traditional library materials, BCLS circulates a wide variety of equipment and tools (everything from cake pans and camping equipment to telescopes and a trailer) through the Library of Things, offers programs for every interest and age group, offers makerspaces in four of our branches, and partners with other organizations to host events like the Annual Alzheimer Memory Screenings and AARP Free Income Tax Preparation.
